Summary:
HRiA is seeking a highly talented Grantmaking Program Coordinator to provide a range of programmatic and administrative support for our Community Health Grantmaking department. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a vibrant and growing public health organization and contribute to initiatives focused on addressing racial equity grantmaking. This is a full-time, exempt position. Candidates must be based in Massachusetts.

HRiA seeks a Grantmaking Program Coordinator with a keen understanding of operational procedures and who can work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. They will provide programmatic and administrative support to assist program staff in developing, implementing, and managing multiple Community Health Grantmaking projects that fund and advance community and population health across the United States. This position will report to the Managing Director, Racial Equity Grantmaking, and work collaboratively with a department comprised of Program Officers, Program Associates, Directors, and Managing Directors.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range for this position is $47,000-$54,500 and is commensurate with experience. Health Resources in Action offers an attractive benefits package including employer-funded medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, and employer contributions to a tax-deferred annuity. Roles and Responsibilities:
The Grantmaking Program Coordinator will provide a range of grantmaking, technical assistance and capacity building, and administrative support for the Community Health Grantmaking team, including:
  • Assist with developing and managing application processes through the Blackbaud online portal and/or other online technology systems.
  • Prepare and distribute a range of grant documentation, including award and declination letters, grant agreements, check requests, and other materials.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and support trainings and other technical assistance for grantees.
  • Help monitor and document grantees’ progress and accomplishments and support overall project evaluation activities.
  • Support and address requests from partnership and grantee organizations.
  • Provide support for ongoing capacity building and training sessions for grantees, including meeting preparation, materials, and ongoing communication.
  • Engage with and support application reviewers and manage aspects of review processes.
  • Provide routine administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, coordinating event logistics, taking notes, and responding to project inquiries.
  • Create graphically designed and polished formatted documents, email newsletters, and other correspondence.
  • Provide financial administrative support including processing invoices and other requests for funds.
  • Help compile, write, and proofread summaries and reports to document project activities and accomplishments.
  • Assist team members with tasks to address client, project, and/or team management needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, and other workgroups.
  • Identify and suggest ideas to improve project activities and processes.
  • Assist with preparing and presenting reports and results.
  • Support project management in securing continuation of project funding, as needed.
  • Gather and prepare documentation for proposals and/or contract extensions, as needed.
Candidate Qualifications:
  • A commitment to racial and health equity, and diversity of thought, backgrounds, and perspectives.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or at least two years of equivalent experience in an office environment and/or community organization.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
  • High level of professionalism and self-motivation, with a demonstrated ability to commit to and follow through on projects.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including communicating by videoconference, phone, and/or in person (when needed) with community members and organizational partners.
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in or capability of learning new software, including Blackbaud, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience in event and meeting planning, coordination, and logistical support.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Resourceful self-starter with a proven ability to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility and a sense of humor.
  • Experience working in diverse and multi-cultural settings preferred.
